Your EAP is paid for by Encompass Care as a support service for you as an employee, so that it’s free of charge for you to use. You don’t need to ask your manager to use Care First, just call 0800 174319 and you can speak to a professional counsellor or information specialist in confidence. (If you are calling on a mobile and are concerned about costs, then an advisor will be very happy to call you back if you ask). It’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is accessible by phone or online. The EAP can provide information booklets, articles, resource information on support services in your local area and even short term face-to-face counselling to help get you back on track.
Their comprehensive EAP lifestyle website offers extensive resources, including articles on health, issues at home, issues at work, management support tools, stress questionnaires and online counselling in real time. Their Vitality website is an online personal and interactive well-being portal which helps you identify which areas of your well-being may need some focus and gives you all the tools, information and support you need to make positive changes. This unique health management resource helps you enhance your wellbeing and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Care First provide a counselling service to Encompass Care employees and their families (those family members residing at the same address).
You can access Care First 24/7 via their telephone help line. When you contact Care First, the person that you speak to on the phone will be a trained counsellor and you will not have to go through a call handler first.
Over the phone, you and the counsellor will talk and agree if you would like more support and agree the best way forward for you. In some cases, the counsellor will ask you to consider your options (ie: if you would like face-to-face support or telephone counselling) and ask you to call back with a decision. This is to give you some space and time to consider what is right for you.
Care First's counsellors are members of and accredited to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with extensive experience and expertise. You can discuss anything that is troubling you, whether it is personal difficulties, for example relationships, family matters, stress, loss or bereavement; or work-related issues, such as feeling pressure, workload, changes at work, bullying or harassment.
The EAP is designed to help you with a wide range of work, family and personal issues. From work-life balance to childcare information, relationships to workplace issues, health and well-being, let the EAP support you on the issues that affect all of us at some point in our lives. Topics include, but are not limited to:
